The Lamp Lighting Ceremony of Ganga Nursing and Allied Health Science College was held on campus today, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of its students.
Jaya Menon, Nursing Head at Kauvery Hospitals, Trichy, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
Kanakavalli Shanmuganathan, Chairman and Managing Director of Ganga Hospital, along with Dr. Raja Sabapathy, Director and Head of the Department of Hand, Plastic and Microsurgery; Nirmala Rajasabapathy; Dr. Rajasekaran; and Rama Rajasekaran, Trustees of the institution, presided over the function.

The Lamp Lighting Ceremony is a solemn and symbolic tradition that signifies the beginning of a nurse’s professional journey, inspired by the legacy of Florence Nightingale and her dedication to compassionate care.
Dr. Raja Sabapathy delivered the welcome address, while Rama Rajasekaran, in her address, highlighted the institution’s dedication to excellence in shaping skilled and ethical nursing professionals.
Addressing the students, Jaya Menon underscored the nobility and responsibility associated with the nursing profession, urging them to serve with empathy, integrity, and dedication.
A total of 210 undergraduate nursing and allied healthcare students lit their lamps and took a solemn pledge to uphold ethical values, provide selfless care, and bring hope and healing to those in need.
Jeba Kumari, Principal, along with the Vice Principal, faculty members, parents, and students, were present at the ceremony.
