Stroke is 4th leading cause of death

Stroke is a major health crisis in India, increasingly affecting a younger population. Recent studies highlight the staggering burden, with stroke now ranking as the fourth leading cause of death and the fifth leading cause of disability in the country. India has witnessed a significant rise in stroke cases, accounting for approximately 10% of the global stroke burden.

Stroke treatment is highly time-sensitive. Life-saving interventions, such as thrombolysis (clot-busting medication) and mechanical thrombectomy, are only effective when administered within a narrow window, often referred to as the “golden hour.” Immediate action saves lives and minimises long-term disability.

With advanced imaging capabilities, including CT and MRI, and a round-the-clock emergency response system, KMCH ensures that every stroke patient receives immediate, standardised, and world-class care, drastically improving recovery chances.
