The Department of Civil Engineering at PSG College of Technology, as part of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations, organised a two-day international workshop on “Low Carbon and Lean Approaches to Resilient Green Infrastructure” on 19th and 20th September 2025.

The event brought together eminent experts, researchers, academicians, and practitioners from across the globe to deliberate on sustainable strategies for the future of infrastructure.

The workshop commenced with a warm welcome address by Sivakumar, head of the department, who emphasised the legacy of PSG Tech in advancing engineering education and research.

This was followed by an overview of the workshop by Praveen Kumar, associate professor of civil engineering and organising secretary of the event, who highlighted the objectives, themes, and expected outcomes of the two-day program.

The highlight of the program was the presence of renowned keynote speakers from leading universities and organisations worldwide, who shared their expertise on low-carbon construction materials, lean construction methodologies, and innovative approaches to resilient infrastructure.

The technical sessions were well received by the participants, comprising faculty, research scholars, practising engineers, and students.

The workshop provided a platform for meaningful knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration between academia and industry.

Speaking on the occasion, the organisers highlighted that the initiative was purely driven by technical and academic interest, focusing on contributing to societal needs rather than revenue generation.

The workshop concluded with an interactive panel discussion, where experts and participants engaged in brainstorming sessions on the roadmap for sustainable and resilient infrastructure development.
