In an inspiring story of determination and relentless passion, Yogesh Ram, a young and dynamic athlete from Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Food Technology, has brought immense pride to Tamil Nadu by setting a world record in continuous road running.

Yogesh Ram recently achieved an extraordinary milestone by covering 184.05 kilometres in 24 hours without stopping, completing a challenging round-trip run from Coimbatore to Karur and back.

This remarkable feat, accomplished through sheer endurance and mental strength, has been officially recognised by the Jackhi Book of World Records on December 25, 2025.

What makes this achievement even more commendable is his consistent performance and dedication over time.

Yogesh Ram has participated in more than 84 marathons, steadily building a strong record of excellence in long-distance running. His journey began with awareness and participation runs, including a 5 km marathon in Karur promoting “No to Drugs, Women’s Safety, and Health Awareness” in July 2024.

From there, his progress has been remarkable. He secured 3rd place in the “Run and Burn 2.0” marathon (Karur), followed by consistent performances in events like the Musiri Marathon in Trichy and the Karur Treethon.

His participation in college and community-based runs such as the Karapagam College Women’s Marathon and PSG iTech Marathon earned him top rankings, including 2nd-place finishes.

Yogesh Ram has also been an active participant in social awareness events such as Drug Awareness Runs and hospital-organised marathons, demonstrating his commitment beyond competition. His achievements include top positions across multiple distances, including 3 km, 5 km, 8 km, 10 km, and even 12 km events conducted across cities like Coimbatore, Salem, Namakkal, Pollachi, and Erode.

His outstanding performances continued into 2025 with impressive results. He secured 1st place in the Women’s Day Marathon (10 km) and again 1st place in the VOC “Voice of Change” Marathon (5 km). He also achieved podium finishes in events like the Rotaract 10 km run, Sakthi Engineering College Marathon (8 km – 3rd place), and Karur Sports Federation event (5 km – 2nd place).

Notably, he also participated in prestigious runs such as the Times Marathon (Chennai), Business World Records Retro Run (Erode), Bloodathon 2025 (Dindigul), and Rise Up Youth Marathon (Chennai), consistently securing top 10–15 positions among strong competitors.

Throughout his journey, Yogesh Ram has demonstrated not only physical stamina but also discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose. His ability to balance academics with such an intense athletic pursuit highlights his dedication and time management skills.

With a world record now to his name and an impressive list of marathon accomplishments, Yogesh Ram stands as a shining example of perseverance, proving that with passion and commitment, extraordinary heights can be achieved.
