The Department of Microbiology at Hindusthan College of Arts and Science recently inaugurated a new incubation centre.
The facility represents a major step forward in bridging the gap between academic research and industrial application. The centre is specifically dedicated to the cultivation and study of medicinal mushrooms, a field with significant therapeutic and economic potential. The event also marked the official opening of “Mycoblooms Mushroomery.”

The inauguration was graced by Sarasuwathi Khannaiyan, Secretary of the college, and Priya, Executive Secretary. Refana Shahul, Director and Senior Microbiologist, attended as the chief guest and will provide technical guidance for the centre’s development.

Under the guidance of Ponnusamy, Principal of the college, and Lali Growther, Head of the Department of Microbiology, the initiative aims to create a platform for hands-on innovation.
