The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology organised a five-day National Level Solar Electric Vehicle Championship 2025 (SEVC) and the Engine/Electric Kart Vehicle Championship 2025 (EKVC), recently.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from 26 teams representing various states, each showcasing their innovative future concept vehicles designed and fabricated according to the competition rulebook.

The championship featured rigorous static and dynamic rounds, evaluating teams on multiple engineering and performance parameters. The static rounds included a business plan presentation, design evaluation, and cost analysis. The dynamic rounds included a brake test, an acceleration test, and drag test.

The Suspension & Traction Test was conducted at the Hindusthan Dirt Park, a specially designed off-road track built for rigorous vehicle testing. A one-hour Night Endurance Race was held on a 2.5 km loop road within the Hindusthan campus, providing teams with a challenging test of vehicle durability and efficiency.

The Autonomous test round saw around 40% of teams successfully completing the test, driving without a driver while accurately tracing the lane and controlling the steering based on the pathway and obstacles.

Grand Finale & Endurance Race
On the final day, an Electric Vehicle Awareness Rally was conducted from the Hindusthan Campus to Kari Speedway, Chettipalayam (12 km), spreading awareness about sustainable mobility. The event concluded with a race at the Kari Speedway track, where vehicles were pushed to their limits.
