Hindustan College of Arts and Science organised IDEATHON 2026 at its campus recently, fostering creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills among students.
The event was inaugurated by Sudhakar, Director of the college, who delivered the welcome address. Distinguished guests motivated participants with insights on innovation and entrepreneurship.
A total of 63 teams, comprising around 120 participants from various colleges across Coimbatore, presented innovative business ideas spanning technology, sustainability, healthcare, management solutions and social impact.
Notable concepts included rehabilitation technology for coma patients, SOS safety jewellery for women, sustainable farming models, enhanced CNG usage to reduce emissions, and an AI-powered tourist guide.
Seven teams secured top positions and were honoured with cash awards for their innovative ideas. The Director also announced international sponsorship opportunities for the winners to showcase their concepts on a global platform.
The competition witnessed rigorous evaluation, with students demonstrating strong analytical skills, research depth and practical solutions to real-world challenges. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Gunal, Student Coordinator.
