Goethe-Zentrum Coimbatore will screen the award-winning German film Aus dem Nichts (In the Fade) on February 14, 2026, at 5 p.m. at the Mini Auditorium, Classroom–3.
Directed by Fatih Akin, the film tells the story of Katja Şekerci, whose husband and young son, Rocco, are killed in a bomb attack. As Katja struggles through a severe personal crisis, she is further distressed by the police’s initial failure to recognise the extremist right-wing background of the attack.
When the accused are eventually brought to trial and acquitted due to lack of evidence, Katja is pushed to the brink and seeks justice on her own terms.
The film is rated for audiences aged 12 and above and will be screened in German with English subtitles.
