Godrej Properties Limited (GPL), one of India’s leading real estate developers, recently announced the acquisition of a ~ 44-acre land parcel in Coimbatore through an outright purchase.
The company plans to develop a premium plotted residential project with a developable potential of ~ 1.1 million sq. ft. and an estimated revenue potential of ~ INR 450 crore.
The proposed development will offer a well-planned residential layout featuring quality infrastructure, landscaped open spaces, and community amenities aligned with GPL’s design and sustainability philosophy.
The site is located in one of South Coimbatore’s most sought-after residential micro- markets, in proximity to the Coimbatore Golf Club.
This acquisition marks GPL’s entry into Coimbatore and reinforces its focused expansion into high- potential growth cities across India. The move strengthens GPL’s presence in economically resilient urban centres, diversifies its regional booking mix, and accelerates the scale-up of its fast-growing plotted development portfolio.
Coimbatore is rapidly transforming into a diversified economy driven by manufacturing, IT/ITES, education, healthcare, and a strong SME base. The city’s robust infrastructure, rising disposable incomes, and steady economic momentum continue to support sustained housing demand.
Plotted developments have gained traction due to affordability, construction flexibility, and strong long-term appreciation potential.
