Sri Sasikumar, founder of Gnana Sanjeevi Gurukulam, recently launched the social organisation “Gnana Udhayam” (Awakening of Wisdom) at the Swami Vivekananda Youth Club in Koundampudhur, Coimbatore.
Sri Sasikumar, who has been actively involved in personality development and self-awareness initiatives for the past six years through the 4 AM Club and its monthly 21-day “Miracle” training programme, said more than 4.5 lakh participants had so far benefited by realising that solutions to life’s challenges lie within oneself.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the kuthu vilakku by Kavitha San, Director, Coimbatore Roots Company; Sampathkumar, Managing Director, Sulur Simta Clear Boards; Vanashree, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer, Velga Learning Solutions; Sri Sasikumar; and Kavitha Sri Mohanarangan, Administrative Manager, Gnana Sanjeevi Gurukulam.

Explaining the objectives of Gnana Udhayam, Sri Sasikumar said the organisation would function on three core principles — Dharma, Love and Knowledge. Through Dharma, it aims to strengthen the bond between parents and children; through Love, to enhance understanding between husband and wife; and through Knowledge, to improve individual self-discipline.
He added that the organisation has set a target of reaching at least 18,000 families within a year with the support of dedicated volunteers.
Addressing the gathering, poet and thinker Kavitha San said animals and birds live according to their inherent nature, while humans alone have the capacity to refine themselves through thought and self-awareness. Those with positive thoughts, he said, become good human beings, while negative thoughts lead otherwise. He expressed confidence that Gnana Udhayam would play a key role in nurturing such positive thinking.
Sampathkumar, in his address, emphasised that family is the foundation of Indian culture. Drawing a comparison with Western societies, he noted that nearly 70 per cent of families abroad follow an individualistic lifestyle. He said organisations like Gnana Udhayam are essential for strengthening family welfare, child development and moral values in society.

Vanashree spoke on the present-day challenges in parent-child relationships, marital harmony and individual ethics. Expressing hope that Gnana Udhayam would bring about meaningful social change, she wished the initiative success.
