The Department of Critical Care Medicine at G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital (GKNMH) recently organised a one-day conference titled “GKNM 3C Critical Care Conclave” under the theme “Oncology Critical Care” at Radisson Blu Hotel, Coimbatore.
The conference was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Pradeep Rangappa, Senior Consultant, Critical Care Medicine, Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru, in the presence of Dr. Manoharan, Chief Medical Officer of the hospital; Dr. Santhosh, Medical Director – Operations; Dr. Senthilkumar, Chairperson, Critical Care Medicine; and the consultants of the department.
The conference focused on the need for specialised intensive care (ICU) management for cancer patients, as their conditions and treatments make them more vulnerable due to immunocompromise and nutritional challenges. It emphasised that critical care physicians must be well-prepared to handle emergencies specific to oncology patients.
Over 200 delegates from across Tamil Nadu actively participated in and interacted with the faculty during the event.
