GEM Hospital will be participating in the Coimbatore Women’s Marathon scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
The marathon will commence at 5.30 a.m. from the designated starting point in Hospital parking.
The event is being organised to create public awareness about women’s health, physical fitness, and the importance of leading an active lifestyle. Various social organizations and healthcare institutions are participating in this initiative.
The official logo and publicity materials for the marathon were released by Kannan, Police Commissioner, Coimbatore City.
Palanivelu, Chairman of the hospital; Dr. P. Praveen Raj, Joint Managing Director and CEO along with other medical professionals and staff members, will be participating in the marathon.
The marathon route has been carefully planned across multiple race distances, including Puliyakulam Carmel Garden (3 km), Race Course- Commissioner Bungalow (5 km), and Trichy Road – Venkatalakshmi Kalyana Mandapam (10 km), ensuring safety and convenience for all runners.
Adequate arrangements have been made along the route for drinking water, medical support, emergency services, and volunteers to ensure the safety of participants.
The primary objective of the Coimbatore Women’s Marathon is to encourage women to prioritise their health, physical fitness, and overall well-being, and to inspire society to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Participants are requested to reach the venue by GEM Hospital Parking 5.30 a.m., collect their bib numbers, and complete the registration process at least one hour prior to the start of the marathon.
