GEM Cancer Center inaugurated its GEM Breast Center on October 6, 2025. This new initiative is envisioned to serve as a Center of Excellence for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of breast cancer and other breast-related diseases.
The center was inaugurated by the chief guest and renowned singer Anuradha Sriram, who also serves as a Pink Ambassador, actively promoting awareness on the importance of early detection and timely intervention in breast cancer.
The event was presided over by Dr. Palanivelu, Chairman, GEM Hospital, and attended by key members of the medical leadership team, including Dr. Praveen Raj, Managing Director; Dr. Bharat Rajarajan, Clinical Director; Dr. Madhu Sairam, Academic Director; Dr. Shivakumar, Head of Surgical Oncology; and Dr. Prema, Radiologist and Breast Consultant.

I congratulate GEM Cancer Center for creating a dedicated facility that prioritises women’s health and well-being.”
Dr. Praveen Raj highlighted the hospital’s holistic approach, “Breast cancer is not just a medical condition; it’s an emotional journey. Our center offers a multidisciplinary model—from screening and imaging to surgery, oncology, reconstruction, and rehabilitation—all under one roof.”

Dr. Bharat Rajarajan added, “Every woman deserves access to comprehensive and compassionate care. Regular check-ups, screening mammograms, and self-awareness are vital steps that can make a life-changing difference.”
