Ashwini Baby Acharya, a student at Gedee Technical Training Institute, achieved the top rank in the All India Trade Examination conducted by the National Council of Vocational Training.
She is currently enrolled in the Tool & Die Maker (Dies & Moulds) course (NSQF), Ashwini secured first place nationally in her trade, specifically in the Female Student category. She scored an impressive 88% on her final examination held in August 2024.
In Tamil Nadu, around 29 students have topped in the all India Level under various trades. She received a special award from the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at a function in Chennai.
Generally, Tool Making is a male-dominated profession and she has broken barriers to accomplish the feat. She plans to further study Advanced Tool Making and Tool Design.
She is based in Coimbatore and her father is running a small tool room in Ganapathy. She being the elder daughter helps her father now and then in his workshop.
Ashwini Baby Acharya will appear for the German DIHK ‘A’ Certificate exam in Tool Making next year, and enhance her employment opportunities abroad.
