One of India’s leading manufacturer of advanced pumping technologies, EKKI launched LINUS Clog-Defense Sewage Pump Range on Thursday through its collaboration with HOMA, a German manufacturer specializing in submersible motor pumps and systems for drainage, dewatering and wastewater application.
It was launched together by P. Arumugam Chief Executive EKKI Group; Kanishka Arumugam, Co-chief Executive, EKKI Pumps; Hans Hoffmann – CEO of HOMA Pumpenfabrik; Markus Steimel – Head of Service HOMA Pumpenfabrik and N.K.Ranganath, Chief Advisor, EKKI Homa.
Speaking at the event, Kanishka Arumugam, Co-chief Executive, EKKI Pumps said, India generates close to 72-75 billion liters of waste water (per.day), while approximately70% of India’s waste water is contaminated and untreated according to NITI Aayog.
He said 60% of treatment plants fail because of unreliable pumps or clogging. On the other hand, Clogging remains a big cause for pump-breakdowns. With the aim to engineer a clog-defense future for India, EKKI-HOMA has launched a new range of products that is developed for India’s need with a defense-first objective.
“Today buildings are not just structures, they are living ecosystem managing water, waste, energy and hygiene. The performance of a building will be judged in future by reliable waste water systems, and sewage pumps is one of the more core products of the waste water infra, where defense is needed for the clogging and a very high-quality product is required,” he mentioned.
The LINUS range of Clog-Defense Sewage Pumps is designed for dependable, clog-free operation. They reliably handle heavy solids and fibrous waste, significantly reducing blockages, breakdowns and emerging downtime.
These pumps are suited for residential complexes, commercial and institutional buildings, industrial wastewater applications, OEMs, and municipal and decentralized sewage systems, and built to perform in corrosive and abrasive environments. The range offers longer service life and consistent efficiency under continuous, round the clock operation.
These products are completely built for the Indian conditions, toughly designed to take on the toughest sewage challenges. They are entirely made in India and made for India and the world. A solid number of service centers, distribution channels and local supply chain have all been developed. Over the last year, these Clog-Defense Sewage Pumps were tested in over 100 sites, delivering the desired outcomes. These products will be sold in India and a portion will be sold to Germany as well.
When asked whether EKKI will also export these products to other markets side by side, Kanishka Arumugam, Co-chief Executive said “Our primary focus is India and the neighboring markets. As we go along, we will look at emerging markets. As of now 100% focus is to produce in India. As 70% of waste water is not treated here, India itself is a very massive market.”
Adding to that, N.K.Ranganath, Chief Advisor, EKKI Homa said, that the largest market in terms of growth is India now. He said that they are also looking at other countries where its partners are not involved. EKKI will look for markets that have not been covered.
