Policybazaar, one of the largest online insurance platforms in the country, today addressed the media at a press conference in Coimbatore.
David Oscar, Ops Head (South), Life Insurance, Policybazaar chaired the press conference. Subrat Gupta, AVP, Life Insurance, Policybazaar also joined.
It was conveyed at the event that consumer trends in Coimbatore indicate that young salaried customers and high net-worth individuals are driving insurance demand in the region.
Coimbatore, also known as the Manchester of South India, is one of the most industrialised cities with evolving consumer needs. The city has shown a phenomenal rise in the adoption of both term insurance and insurance-cum-investment plans. The event was chaired by David Oscar, Ops Head (South), Life Insurance, Policybazaar.
Speaking at the event, David said, “South India and Coimbatore in particular, have emerged as a strong market for consumer literacy and growing demand. Customers are now becoming conscious of financial planning for life events like children’s education and retirement. Policybazaar’s physical presence in this region plays a critical role in addressing consumer expectations face-to-face and providing end-to-end support.”
During the press conference, David shared that Policybazaar opened its office in Coimbatore 3 months ago to serve customers of this district and also the neighboring Kongu-belt districts better.
David said that previously, they served customers from Coimbatore via their center in Chennai whereas now they are serving them and the customers in rest of the Kongu belt from Coimbatore.
With more customers from Kongu Belt asking experts to visit them in person and explain the policies , Policybazaar’s physical presence in Coimbatore is poised to perfectly provide this service.
“Policy bazaar is a platform where we will give unbiased advice to customers,” he said.
While the product of several insurance companies can be obtained by the customers from this platform, Policybazzar will first analyze the need of the customers by measuring various factors such as age, income etc., and will then advice a product that will suit them the most.
PolicyBazaar has numerous Term, Health, Savings, Pension/Retirement that could benefit the customers. David stated that next to Chennai, Coimbatore is the next big place and the company will definitely grow.
