Over 25,000 runners took part across four categories in the Walkaroo Coimbatore Marathon 2025 held on 21st December 2025.
Participants from all walks of life took part in support of the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation.
The marathon was flagged off by Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar, Coimbatore District Collector; Balakrishnan, Inspector General in BSF, Ministry of Home Affairs and Saravana Sundar, Coimbatore City Police Commissioner .
The race started on Park Gate Road and the prize distribution ceremony was held at Stanes School Ground.
The marathon route was fully supported by hydration points, medical facilities, ambulance services, route markers, and course marshals thus ensuring a hassle-free experience for the runners.
Timing chips were used to keep track of the participants and provide official and personal times.
Dr. Balaji, Managing Trustee of the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation, said, “The thirteenth edition of the Walkaroo Coimbatore Marathon has been a resounding success, marked by record participation and overwhelming community support.
We are deeply grateful to the District Collector, Police Commissioner, Corporation Commissioner and all Government departments for their invaluable support in enabling us to host a truly world-class marathon.
A heartfelt thank you to our Event Partners and the dedicated volunteers who make this event what it is, and to the enthusiastic running community of Kovai and participants from across the country for joining us in this meaningful cause.”

Ramesh Ponnuswami, Race Director said, “The thirteenth edition of the marathon has been a great success. With a significant milestone of 25,000 participants reached this year, the support has been overwhelming.
We appreciate the support of all participants and wish to express our gratitude towards the people of Coimbatore, the Police department, the Coimbatore Collectorate, the Coimbatore Corporation, and several organizations and volunteers for their continued support and patronage.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the next edition in December 2026.”
The Prize Money amounting to Rs.3.85 Lakhs was presented to the winners. The prize money for the open category for men & women for 21.1 km run was Rs. 60,000, 35,000 & 25,000 respectively for the first, second and third place holders, while for the top three places in the 10 km category the prize money was Rs. 35,000, Rs.25,000 & Rs. 12,500 respectively.
