At the Junior National Equestrian Championship 2024, held at the Army Equestrian Centre in New Delhi, 12-year-old Hashini, a student of the renowned Alexander Equestrian Club – Equine Dreams, Coimbatore, achieved a remarkable feat by winning multiple medals including gold and made Tamil Nadu proud.

In this regard, a press conference was held recently by Equine Dreams. Hashini addressed the press along with Sakti Balaji, Founder & CEO of the Horse-riding school.

Balaji conveyed that Hashini has been a student of Equine Dreams since she was 5.5 years old. She competed in various State-Level events and recently she qualified for the 2024 Junior National Equestrian Championship through the Indigenous Horse Society – Tamil Nadu.

Competing in multiple categories, Hashini won 3 Gold (60 cm Show Jumping; 80 cm Show Jumping and Dressage categories) 2 Silver (60 cm Show Jumping – Phase 2 and 80 cm Show Jumping – Phase 2) and 1 Bronze medal in another Show Jumping category at this competition.

Sharing her experience to the press and media, Hashini said that her preparation and guidance from Equine Dreams helped her face this competition with confidence, and she did not feel any pressure at the arena.

Speaking further, she said that this victory also goes to her 4-legged companion. “I share a strong bond with my horses Google, Vanilla, and Olga. For equestrians, the bond with their horses is important and we move as one.

For this prestigious event, I took extra care and kept myself ready and my horses quickly made themselves comfortable with the weather and terrain there,” she said.

Expressing her gratitude, Hashini dedicated her achievements to Sakti Balaji, her coach Balamurugan and the Alexander Equestrian Club – Equine Dreams team. She also thanked the Indigenous Horse Society – Tamil Nadu for their support in helping her participate in the championship.

Hashini is now training rigorously for the 2030 Youth Olympics and other national events in between.

When asked whether it is possible to organize such prestigious equestrian competitions in Coimbatore, Sakti Balaji said that they are coming up with a nice facility in Coimbatore that could host such events professionally.
