Sandhya Menon, a senior faculty of CMS Institute of Management Studies, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CMS Group of Institutions recently.

The announcement was made by Gereesan, Chairman of the CMS Educational and Charitable Trust, during his presidential address at a special gathering held on campus.

The occasion witnessed the esteemed presence of the Trust’s office bearers, including Sajiesh Kumar, Vice Chairman; Chandrakumar, Secretary; Sashidharan, Joint Secretary; and Vijayakumar, Treasurer, along with other dignitaries.

In her address, Sandhya Menon expressed her gratitude and affirmed her commitment to the progress of the institution, assuring the gathering that she would work with dedication and vision for its growth and excellence.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Salini, Vice Principal, Academics, and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Vinoth Kumar, Director, School of Biological Sciences.

About the New CEO

A dynamic leader and an able administrator, Sandhya Menon brings with her over 36 years of experience in teaching, research, and industry. She holds degree in M.Com., MBA, M.Phil., and Ph.D., and has had a brilliant academic career, winning numerous awards and accolades in academics, sports, and cultural activities.

Menon has presented research papers at several national and international conferences, with many of her works published in reputed journals. She was a star performer in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and represented Tamil Nadu and Puducherry at the Republic Day Celebrations in New Delhi in 1979. She also played for the University of Madras Division-level Basketball Team, demonstrating excellence beyond the classroom.

Her contributions to education include serving as a member of the Postgraduate Board of Studies at Bharathiar University, and successfully guiding more than 25 M.Phil. and 13 Ph.D. scholars. She has also played a significant role in curriculum development and educational planning.

Menon has gained international exposure through her travels across countries in Europe, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Russia, Jordan, Israel, New Zealand, USA, and Sri Lanka, enriching her perspective on global education systems, culture, and living standards. She was also an active member of the UGC Commission responsible for granting funds to universities and colleges across India under the XI Five-Year Plan.
