Coimbatore Builders and Contractors Association (CEBACA) has been at the forefront of social and developmental activities. Continuing this tradition, the association undertook a tree replantation project on 8th February 2026 to save well-grown trees.
Delivering the welcome address at the function, Ramya Senthil, President of the association, said, “CEBACA has been taking up various projects to serve the community, and environmental initiatives have always been a priority for us. Recently, we developed a Miyawaki forest near Le Meridien, carefully nurturing the trees.
Today, we are glad to take up this tree replantation project, which is a vivid example of tripartite efforts to give a new lease of life to a few trees.”

He added that the project was initiated after CEBACA advisor Srinivasan’s project at Hope College, which necessitated the removal of three trees that were around thirty-five years old. “As a nature lover, he did not want to cut the trees and joined hands with CEBACA, which has the expertise for such projects. Dr GRD College of Arts & Science generously offered space on its campus to accommodate the trees,” she explained.
Valluvan, Executive Committee Member, assisted by a CEBACA team, undertook the task, beginning with initial pruning at Nivasan Homes campus, where the trees originally stood.
The three trees, over 35 years old, were then carefully transported and replanted at the college campus using proper techniques to ensure their survival. Valluvan added that the trees are expected to thrive at the new location.
The event’s chief guest, Dr. K. Matheswaran, Chairman of Royal Care Hospital, commended CEBACA for taking up the noble task. He said, “In today’s context, development projects are inevitable, but they can be planned to minimise environmental impact.

Each tree nurtures hundreds of life forms, including birds and microbes. It is our duty to preserve nature and hand over a green earth to the next generation.” He also mentioned that his trust has planted over one crore trees so far.
Geetha Padmanabhan, Secretary of the college, Ramachandran, Vice-Principal, and Srinivasan, Managing Director of Srinivasan Associates, offered their felicitations. Several CEBACA members and college students participated in the programme, contributing to the success of the initiative.
