The Coimbatore Builders and Contractors Association (CEBACA) recently hosted Edu-CONNECT 2025, an innovative Faculty Development Program at Hotel Rathna Residency, Coimbatore.

The event aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry practices.

Jeyakumar, Chairman, IIA Coimbatore Centre, and Principal Architect, M/s. Jeyakumar Associates graced as the Chief Guest, and Srinivasan, Managing Director, Srinivasan Associates Private Limited, and CEBACA Advisor as the Guest of Honour.

The program is designed to empower faculty members with practical, up-to-date industry insights, ensuring the next generation of engineering graduates as industry-ready professionals.

By fostering collaboration between academia and industry, Edu-CONNECT 2025 seeks to redefine how civil engineering education aligns with evolving construction practices.

Raamanathan, President of CEBACA, emphasized the significance of this initiative, “The construction industry is evolving rapidly, and it’s essential for educators to stay ahead of the curve. Edu-CONNECT 2025 ensures that academic institutions are no longer a step behind but, instead, become the driving force shaping the industry’s future.”

The program also includes insightful expert sessions on Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) by Periyasamy, Managing Director of Armour Steel Buildings India Pvt Ltd; the concept of Prestressing by Geo Damin, Head of SF Engineering Systems India Pvt Ltd; and System Formwork by Balamurugan, Director of FORM CONNECT.

Balakrishnan, Project Chairman and CEBACA Academic Panel member, highlighted the program’s long-term vision and stated, “Edu-CONNECT 2025 is not just a one-day event; it is the beginning of a movement to transform engineering education. We aim to equip educators with the latest industry knowledge, ensuring students graduate prepared for real-world challenges.”

Ravichandiran, Hon. Secretary, said, “Empowering faculty means empowering the future workforce. This initiative is a crucial step in nurturing job-ready engineers who can immediately contribute to the industry.”

The event concluded with a site visit, providing attendees with hands-on exposure to practical applications of the techniques discussed.
