SUEZ in India CEO Rasmi Ranjan Ray commented on the Union Budget 2026–27, saying, “The Union Budget 2026–27 emphasised three key priorities with the intent to strengthen and improve India’s social, economic, and environmental resilience.
The Capex allocation has been increased to ₹12.2 lakh crore, reflecting the government’s consistent focus on urban development, including targeted boosts to water supply under the Jal Jeevan Mission, sanitation through Swachh Bharat, and urban infrastructure via AMRUT 2.0, thereby propelling Viksit Bharat 2047 into action.
The increase in capital expenditure, particularly aimed at Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, will enable smart water systems, resilient sanitation networks, and future-proof urban assets, fostering public-private partnerships and elevating urban living standards.
Indian cities are now poised for sustainable, climate-ready growth that benefits communities nationwide. At SUEZ in India, we see this as a strong opportunity to partner with cities and governments to deliver safe, resilient, and climate-adaptive water and wastewater services, improving quality of life and contributing to urban transformation.”
