ALERT, a voluntary non-profit organisation that empowers citizens to act during emergencies and save lives, has invited nominations for the 9th edition of the ALERT Being Award.
The annual event honours individuals and organisations across India who have contributed to saving, preserving or enabling human life with dignity.
Nominations for the ALERT Being Awards are open to Good Samaritans from across the country, and the last date for submission is 20 December 2025.
The shortlisted awardees will be honoured at a ceremony scheduled for February 2026. This prestigious recognition celebrates those who have selflessly saved lives during emergencies, acknowledging their courage, compassion and service to humanity.
The awards will be presented in various categories, including Individual, Organisation, Individual – Going Beyond the Call of Duty and Organisation – Social Venture. ALERT will also confer Icon and Lifetime Achievement Awards to individuals or organisations that have created large-scale impact and dedicated their lives to serving humanity.
This year, ten Good Samaritans from across India will be honoured for saving or preserving lives during critical situations.
The distinguished Jury comprises Shakeel Akhtar, Chief Information Commissioner, Tamil Nadu; Rajkumar, Chairman, LIMA; Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali, Dewan to the Prince of Arcot; Veena Kumaravel, Founder of Naturals Group of Salons; Sujith Kumar, Founder of Maatram Foundation; and Anandakrishnan, Serial Entrepreneur. They will review and shortlist the awardees from numerous nominations received.
Dr. Renuka David, Managing Director of Radiant Medical Services, and Kumaravel, CEO and Co-Founder of Naturals Salon & Spa, serve as advisors for the event.
Speaking about the awards, Muralidharan, Chairman of ALERT, said the ALERT Being Awards are not only about recognising individuals but also about fostering a culture of awareness and responsibility. “Every act of saving a life is a testament to the power of humanity and the spirit of being an ‘Alert Being’,” he said.
