The PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (PSG IMSR), Coimbatore, in collaboration with the Association of Medical Biochemists of India (AMBI), Tamil Nadu chapter, is organising the 32nd Annual National Conference of the association, AMBICON 2025, from 12th to 14th December 2025 at PSG IMSR.
The conference was inaugurated today, 12 December 2025, with the release of the souvenir, conference logo and website by the Chief Guest, Dr. Narayanasamy, Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai.
The Chief Guest also released a Textbook of Medical Biochemistry, and the first copy was received by Maj. Gen. Ravikumar, AVSM (Retd.), Dean, KMCH IHSR.
Dr. Jeyachandran, Organising Secretary, delivered the welcome address.
The dignitaries present at the inaugural ceremony included Dr. Subba Rao, Principal, PSG IMSR; Dr. Govindaraju, Founder President of AMBI; Dr. Soma Gupta, President; Dr. Saravanan, Secretary of the Tamil Nadu chapter; and Dr. Anitha Devanath, Honorary Secretary of the association.
Dr. Sumitra, Joint Organising Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.
This year’s conference has achieved a record participation of over 900 delegates from across the country.
A notable highlight is a comprehensive lineup of 20 preconference workshops conducted by 50 national experts, offering hands-on training across a wide spectrum—from innovative medical education tools, Good Laboratory Practices, to advanced analytical platforms and simulation-based exercises.
Six prestigious AMBI Orations will be presented, and the scientific programme features more than 60 invited speakers along with over 450 research presentations.
Key sessions include next-generation plenaries on NGS, mass spectrometry, metabolomics, laboratory management, and medical education, in addition to high-impact 5-minute spotlight talks.
Dedicated postgraduate events such as the National Quiz, Escape Room challenge, and Career Pathways Forum further enrich the academic experience.
Accredited by the Tamil Nadu Medical Council and conducted under the aegis of IFCC and APFCB, AMBICON 2025 is being hosted at the state-of-the-art PSG Health Sciences Campus, Coimbatore, underscoring the region’s growing prominence in advancing clinical biochemistry and laboratory medicine.
