The Bhoomi Pooja ceremony for the CRS Memorial Endowment Project was conducted at the Government Higher Secondary School, Sarcar Samakulam, Kovilpalayam on 13th December 2024.
The event was graced by Kranthi Kumar, District Collector, Coimbatore as the Chief Guest. Balamurali, Chief Education Officer Coimbatore has graced the occasion.
The occasion was also attended by CRS Memorial Endowment donors, members of the Residents
Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC), and dignitaries, including Soundararajan, Founder of RAAC and the Chairman of CRI Pumps; Balsundaram, Chairman, CRS Memorial Endowment; Thilasidharan, President, RAAC; Suresh, Union Chairman, S.S Kulam; Vijayakumar, Vice Chairman, S.S Kulam and Vimala, Headmistress, S.S Kulam School.
As part of the event, the CRI Pumps School Toppers Awards for the academic year 2023- 2024 were presented to the top three achievers of Classes X and XII.
The students were honoured with medals, trophies, and cash rewards, recognizing their outstanding academic performance.
The CRS Memorial Endowment, established in memory of the late C. R. Swaminathan, focuses on addressing critical infrastructure gaps in government schools. The initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities for students from rural and underprivileged backgrounds. The total value of the project is ₹ 2.5 crores.
Key projects announced at the ceremony
Construction of an Open-Air Auditorium for school assemblies, cultural programs, and sports activities and the Development of a Modern Laboratory Block for Computer, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics labs at Government Higher Secondary School, Sarcar Samakulam, Kovilpalayam
Construction of new classrooms, a Biology laboratory, and a dedicated NCC room for the Government Higher Secondary School, Vagarayampalayam, Mopperipalayam
Construction of a compound wall and paver blocks to improve the safety and infrastructure of Government Boys Hostel, S.S. Kulam, Kovilpalayam
These projects aim to create an enriching educational environment and better living conditions for students. The CRS Memorial Endowment Committee also announced plans to extend support to other deserving schools in the future, ensuring the continued development of educational infrastructure in the region.
