The Department of Catering and Hotel Management, Hindusthan College of Arts and Science organized a “Mix n’ Soak” ceremony, recently to kick off the Christmas season.
The event was graced by Umapathy Amirtham, General Manager of O by Tamara, Coimbatore, along with Priya, Executive Secretary, Hindusthan Educational Institutions; Ponnusamy, Principal, and Premkanna, Head of the Department.
Over 120 Catering students enthusiastically participated and Guests donned Santa hats and gloves as they joined students in mixing 35 kilograms of dry fruits like cherries, dates, walnuts, and spices with non-alcoholic beverages.
This mixture, traditionally soaked for 20 days, will be used to prepare rich plum cakes for Christmas. The event highlighted the festive spirit, fostering community and celebrating culinary traditions, making it a memorable day for all.
