Tiruppur Exporters Association organised an interaction meeting with officials of customs at their office, recently.
TEA held an interaction meeting with Vimalanathan, Chief Commissioner of Customs, and Vijay Vel Krishna, Additional Commissioner of Customs.
Padma Shri Sakthivel, Honorary Chairman, TEA; Subramanian, President; Thirukkumaran, General Secretary; Gopalakrishnan, Treasurer; Kumar Duraiswamy, Joint Secretary; Anand, Executive Committee Member; Ramu, Vice Chairman of Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) and representatives of member companies participated in the event.
Sakthivel, in his Presidential address, thanked the Chief Commissioner and Additional Commissioner for visiting the Tiruppur Cluster at short notice and attending the meeting with Exporters of Tiruppur to address the customs-related doubts and queries.
Subramanian, in his speech, thanked the customs officials and listed out the challenges faced by the exporters such as information uploaded in the DGFT portal not reflecting in EDPMS, IDPMS and ICEGATE portals, the incorrect balance of RoSCTL and RoDTEP in exporters’ accounts, incorrect Demand Notices being received by exporters etc. and requested the customs officials to look into the matter and short out the problems.
Vimalanathan clarified the queries and doubts raised by the participating members on various subjects such as RoSCTL, RODTEP, Drawback, BRC, Shipping Bills, and transfer of Licenses and responded with suitable solutions.
He requested the exporters to bring to their notice through TEA and AEPC the issues faced by them. He appreciated the exporters of Tiruppur who contributed to earning more foreign exchange for the Indian economy. He also promised to set up a Facilitation Centre at Chettipalayam ICD, Tiruppur with a superintendent and an inspector to resolve the long pending issues.
In the meeting as per the request of Sakthivel, Vimalanathan agreed to hold a grievance redressal meeting for the exporters on the first Monday of every month. Earlier, Vimalanathan and Vijay Vel Krishna were honoured with shawls by the Office Bearers of the Association.
