Nehru Arts and Science College (NASC) (Autonomous) celebrated its College Day “FESTEMBER – 2024” recently at P. K. Das Memorial Auditorium.
Anirudhan, Principal of the College delivered the welcome address. Krishnadas, Honorary Trade Commissioner of Mauritius – India, Chairman and Managing Trustee, Nehru Group of Institutions presided over the function. In his keynote address, he emphasized the importance of showcasing talent at various cultural events. He also stressed that extracurricular activity will build students’ physical and mental strength.
Arjun V Akshaya, Music Director graced the occasion with his presence as Chief guest. He mentioned that cultural events will make the students happy and excited and give them a boost to enhance their academic performance.
Arjun Varma, Senior Financial Analyst, Honeywell Aerospace was the Guest of Honour, in his address he urged the young minds to contribute their talents in every possible way for self-progression. He told the students to follow personal ethics and decency to become better citizens. He also emphasized that commitment is the only key to success.
Krishnakumar, CEO & Secretary, Nehru Group of Institutions in his special address mentioned that youngsters must be bold and active in exploring new horizons, which will lead them to attain new heights in life. He also insisted on the role of cultural events in honing one’s personality. After the inaugural session, the day was colourful with many cultural events.
Nagaraja, Executive Director Academics & Administration, Nehru Group of Institutions felicitated the gathering and conveyed his special wishes to all the participants.
At the Valedictory Ceremony Krishnakumar, presided over the event. In his keynote address, he felicitated the winners of various events. Krishnashilpa, Actress was the chief guest for the occasion. She conveyed her wishes to all the participants. She advised the students to develop and utilize their skills with the guidance of teachers to succeed in life and awarded prizes to the winners of various events.
Christy John, HR, Accenture was the Guest of Honour. She said students should explore their extracurricular skills along with academics and pointed out that institutions should focus on developing students’ cultural competence.
Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners and participants in various competitions like Art, Photography, Fashion Designing, IQ, Painting and Mehndi. Convenor Santhana Lakshmi delivered the vote of thanks.
