The International Convention for Wedding Fraternity (ICWF) was held at Jaipur, recently.
This is a premier event in the global wedding industry in which industry pioneers thought leaders and emerging talent all gathered under one roof for three days and sketched out a framework that can act as a blueprint for future transformations of the wedding business in India and for India.
Reshma Srijay of Flora Wedding Planners, Coimbatore, was one of the featured speakers at the ICWF 2024, she shared the dais with panellists Aashna Parekh from Delhi, Bhawana Charan from Jaipur, and Ashima Arora from Delhi who together discussed on the theme ‘Colors of India’.
Reshma’s talk focused on the unique aspects of South Indian weddings, particularly in Tamil Nadu, where eco-friendly practices are deeply rooted in tradition.
She highlighted how, despite the increasing grandeur of weddings, sustainability remains central to the region’s celebrations. From using natural materials like banana leaves and flowers to implementing minimal waste practices, South Indian weddings strike a balance between opulence and environmental consciousness, preserving both cultural heritage and ecological mindfulness.
