October is globally observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is dubbed ‘Pinktober’ for the bright pink ribbons and badges people wear to support the breast cancer awareness initiatives. While breast cancer cannot always be prevented, early detection followed by appropriate treatment can significantly help in managing the disease.
