The valedictory function of the 4th Inter-Engineering Invitational Ball Badminton Tournament for Men, organised for the PSG Tech Trophy, was held recently at PSG College of Technology.
The tournament witnessed participation from 15 teams, including 18 alumni players, making it a competitive platform for engineering colleges and alumni teams to showcase their sporting talent.
Dhanasekar, CEO, Sri Venkateshwara Food Processing Industries, Erode, and a PSG Tech alumnus (B.E. Computer Science and Engineering, Class of 2004), graced the valedictory function as the Chief Guest. Prabhu, Managing Director, Navanna Trading Corporation, was the Guest of Honour.
Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology emerged as the winners of the tournament, securing the PSG Tech Trophy, along with a cash prize of ₹4,000, trophy, medal and certificate.
PSG Tech Alumni A finished as the runners-up and received a cash prize of ₹3,000, a trophy, a medal and a certificate. KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology secured third place and received a cash prize of ₹2,000, along with medals and certificates. PSG College of Technology finished fourth and received a cash prize of ₹1,000 and certificates.
The valedictory function was attended by several distinguished guests, including Chandramohan, Secretary, PSG College of Technology and PSG Polytechnic College; Somasundaramurthy, Physical Director, PSG Tech; and Gunasekaran, PSG Tech alumnus (B.Tech Textile, 1978 Batch), former Captain of the Madras University Hockey Team and a member of the Combined Universities Hockey Team.
The tournament provided an opportunity for students and alumni to come together through sport, fostering competitive spirit, camaraderie and continued engagement with the PSG Tech community.
