The sky is not the limit, it is your playground. The runway to reach it is built outside the classrooms, you have to learn the skills while you are in college to fly high, said Capt. N. Sivaramakrishnan, a distinguished aviation professional with over 20,800 flying hours, at PSG College of Arts and Science recently.
Capt. Sivaramakrishnan is an alumnus of PSG CAS (B.Sc. Physics – 1979 graduating batch). He is a seasoned trainer, examiner and mentor in the aviation industry, and has also served Air India as its General Manager (Operations) previously.
To inspire and guide students towards career development and professional excellence, PSG & Sons’ Charities organized its Centenary Celebration Guest Lecture recently. Capt. N. Sivaramakrishnan was the resource person and he inspired the students with his adventurous journey flying dream liners spanning the Globe.
Considering the demand for Pilots today and in future, he explained the different pathways available – both domestic and international – to become pilots. He shared that this profession commands a high salary that is better than IT, and also comes with lot of benefits.
He said the runway for students to reach the sky is built out the classrooms, and that is where the tougher lessons await. He cautioned them that they may have a lot of challenges and turbulence in their journey but students need to find their lift amidst the turbulence, stay calm under pressure, navigate the hardships to land in their dream destination.
