G.D. Vishnuraam, an acclaimed cyclist from Coimbatore who recently completed a 500 km cycling expedition to highlight women’s safety and promote awareness about cyber threats entered the World Book of Records – London (WBR-London) and received the certificate at a ceremony held in the UK Parliament (House of Commons) premises.

Stressing the causes of ‘Say No to Drugs’ and ‘Women’s Safety’, Vishnuraam began his expedition on December 6, 2025 from Dhanushkodi, Rameswaram and completed it in Coimbatore the next day, December 7, covering 500 kms. in 15 hours and 8 minutes, spreading awareness throughout the route.

He received a couple of accolades upon completing the ride in Coimbatore. He recently received the certificate from World Book of Records – London.

“This recognition marks a new beginning for my social awareness journey. I will continue to work towards raising social awareness through cycling and encouraging the youth to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle,” he said.

“I plan to undertake a 2,026-kilometer cycling journey in 2026 to vigorously champion the causes of a drug-free Tamil Nadu and women’s safety. Our journey will serve to support the initiatives of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay regarding the eradication of substance abuse and the promotion of women’s safety,” he added.
