Over 1,100 alumni from the global PSG College of Technology community gathered in Pleasanton, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area, for a landmark Platinum Jubilee celebration recently.
The event was designed, planned, and executed by alumni under the PSG75US Organisers of the North American PSG Tech Alumni Association.
The venue was transformed into a nostalgic tribute, recreating iconic campus landmarks and bringing the spirit of Peelamedu, Coimbatore, to life. Alumni from 35 U.S. states and 10 countries participated, spanning batches from 1962 to 2025, marking over six decades of shared legacy.
L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities, delivered the inaugural reflections through a video address. Jay Vijayan, Founder and CEO of Tekion, delivered the keynote address as Chief Guest.
Srikar Reddy, Consul General of India, San Francisco, attended as the Guest of Honor and addressed the gathering.
A key highlight of the event was the USD 75,000 alumni contribution marking PSG Tech’s 75-year milestone, formally presented to Vimala Venkatesh, Chief Financial Officer of PSG Institutions.
The programme featured panel discussions on AI, startups, and innovation, alumni recognition ceremonies, networking sessions, cultural performances by “Dramatics,” and live music by “Tech Music.” The experience was complemented by a curated blend of global and nostalgic cuisine.
The celebration concluded with the message that PSG Tech is not just an institution but a lasting legacy shaping lives and futures worldwide, according to a press release.
