Project Management Institute, Chennai Chapter (PMI-Chennai) organized Kovai Sangamam 2026 – its annual flagship conference in Coimbatore on Saturday.

Held on the theme ‘Fusion of Intelligence: Human‑Centric AI Excellence,” the conference helps participants explore how technology and humanity can advance together to shape a more purposeful, empowered world.

C.K.Kumaravel, Co-Founder, Naturals Salon took part as the Chief Guest and Rajendran Dandapani. Business Solutions Evangelist at Zoho Corp participated as the keynote speaker of the inaugural.

This event brought together 
visionaries, project leaders, industry experts, entrepreneurs, technologists, and academia to decode how AI can elevate human potential rather than replace it. Around 300 participants including project managers and business leaders took part from various parts of India.

Vijay Narayanan, President, PMI Chennai shared with the participants that out of the 300+ PMI chapters in the world, PMI Chennai was recently honored with the Chapter of the Year 2025 award.

Also during the inaugural ceremony, PMI Chennai Chapter’s Coimbatore branch was launched by C.K.Kumaravel and Rajendran Dandapani in the presence of Vijay Narayanan.

C.K.Kumaravel, in his address highlighted the need for continuous learning, unlearning, and relearning, as illiteracy in the 21st century is defined by one’s inability to adapt. Artificial Intelligence which is a disruptive force offers 2 choices before us – deny and disappear, or adopt and lead. He suggested the participants to adopt, relearn and win.

Dhandapani in his speech asked project managers to stop handing over complete control to A.I, at the same time recommended leveraging A.I to liberate themselves from mundane tasks, freeing up time for human-centric activities like face-to-face interactions, networking, and building relationships.

He further suggested project managers to reduce their reliance on simply trusting the system, especially in the AI-empowered era, and instead cultivate the art of asking insightful questions.
