Celebrating institutional achievements, student excellence, and academic legacy, the Students’ Union of PSG Polytechnic College celebrated Polytech Day 2026 on Tuesday at the Centenary Auditorium.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Dheenathayalan, Director and Chief Business Officer, Fuji Electric India (alumnus of the college), and he released Explore Magazine 2026.
Sarwin Krishna, Secretary – Men’s Student Union, delivered the welcome address, while Giriraj, Principal of the college, presented the annual report, highlighting academic accomplishments, faculty contributions, infrastructure developments, and the institution’s strategic vision.
Keshav Kanna, Chairperson – Students’ Union, presented the report on student union activities for 2025–2026, detailing cultural events, leadership initiatives, and student achievements.
Faculty members, students, and parents attended the event. Sivasankari, Secretary (Women) – Student’s Union, delivered the vote of thanks.

The Chief Guest, Dheenathayalan, in his address said, “I am here because of PSG,” and expressed his gratitude by stating, “Thank you, PSG.” He conveyed his heartfelt appreciation for the institution, noting that its warm hospitality has remained unchanged over the decades.
Reflecting on his past learning experiences at PSG Polytechnic College, he said that his professional journey was rooted in the values of discipline and responsibility, which were instilled during his time at the college. He also advised students to be responsible as they carry the PSG brand.
He shared three essential takeaways that shaped his successful career: embracing new opportunities by adopting the core PSG spirit of “Learn to Learn,” taking risks to foster growth, and accepting mistakes as a natural part of the journey while learning from them continuously.

Awards and Recognition
Faculty and student awards were announced by Mohan Sivakumar, Chief Advisor – Students Union and HOD, Mechanical Engineering.
Recognition covered academic excellence, research, and co-curricular achievements. A total of 14 First Rank holders’ awards and 19 scholarship awards were presented to the deserving students.
The chief guest gave awards to the Overall Best Outgoing Student Award of PSG Polytechnic College, the Best NCC Cadet Award, the Best NSS Volunteer Award, the Best Outgoing Sportsman and Woman Award, six scholarship awards worth Rs 60,000/- by PSG PTC 1984 Batch, Shanthi social services and Blue star foundation scholarship worth of Rs 2,13,257/-.
Certificates of Appreciation were also presented to the office bearers of the Students’ Union.

The Best outgoing student
Keshav Kanna, Chairperson of the Students’ Union, received the Best Outgoing Student award of PSG Polytechnic College for the year 2026. He was presented with a rolling trophy, a silver medal, and a cash prize of Rs. 7,000.
