The Embassy of India in Tehran, the capital city of Iran, has issued an advisory for Indian nationals following a heightened risk perception in the city. Most Indian students in Tehran have been relocated to safer locations outside the city, with the Embassy arranging their transportation, food, and accommodation.
Only a small number of students who declined the Embassy’s relocation offer remain in Tehran.
The Embassy has said that the earlier advisory for other Indian students and nationals in Iran remains unchanged:
- Stay where you are and remain indoors as much as possible.
- Stay away from windows and exercise due caution at all times.
- Avoid areas of protests or demonstrations.
- Remain in regular contact with the Embassy of India in Iran.
