PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (KCW), Coimbatore, marked a significant step in advancing women’s higher education with the launch of the Centre of Excellence for Future Skills – “Diamond Beneath Your Feet,” on 2nd February 2026.
The initiative aims to equip students with global exposure, industry-relevant skills, research opportunities, and international career pathways.
The launch has brought together eminent leaders from academia, industry, and global organisations.
In her welcome address, Yesodha Devi, Secretary of the college, emphasised the college’s long-standing mission of empowering women through quality education and stated that the Centre of Excellence would serve as a transformative platform connecting academic learning to global opportunities.
The vision, mission, and objectives of the Centre were presented by Sreedhar Saraswathy, Chairman of the International Institute of Medical Science and Technology Council (IIMSTC), Sanju Abraham, Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Academy for Skill Development Corporation (TNASDC), and CA Narayanan Nambiar, Founder and Chairman of the Global Finance Training Institute (GFTI).
The speakers highlighted the growing importance of integrating professional certifications, advanced skill training, and international collaborations into mainstream higher education.
The Centre of Excellence for Future Skills was formally inaugurated through a virtual launch, symbolising the college’s entry into a globally connected network of institutions focused on innovation, employability, and research-driven learning.
Delivering the chief guest address, Sangeeth Varghese, President of IFSPD Europe and internationally acclaimed leadership mentor, praised the college’s visionary initiative.
He noted that institutions must now move beyond conventional education models and focus on nurturing leadership, adaptability, and global competence.
He highlighted that platforms such as the Centre of Excellence play a crucial role in preparing young women not just for careers, but for meaningful global leadership.
A major highlight of the event was the exchange of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the college and partnering organisations.
These collaborations are expected to open avenues for international internships, joint research, student and faculty exchange programs, and globally recognised certification pathways.
The Centre will provide students access to advanced laboratories, emerging technology training, global internships, and structured career development support.
Through its flagship initiative, “Diamond Beneath Your Feet,” the institution seeks to identify and nurture the hidden potential within every student and transform it into global excellence.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Harathi, Principal of the college.
