The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotism at the CMS Institution on 26 January 2026.
The programme began with patriotic songs, followed by the unfurling of the National Flag by Sajiesh Kumar, Vice-Chairman of the CMS Educational & Charitable Trust.
Gereesan, Chairman of the Trust, delivered the presidential address, in which he highlighted the significance of the Indian Constitution as the backbone of the world’s largest democracy.
He stressed that education plays a vital role in shaping responsible citizens and urged students to uphold discipline, integrity, and national unity.
He also reminded the students that the nation’s future lies in their hands and encouraged them to contribute positively to society.
Chandrakumar, Secretary of the Trust; Sandhya Menon, CEO, CMS Group of Institutions; Mohammed Ali, Principal, CMS Institute of Management Studies; Annapoorni, Principal, CMS Academy of Management and Technology; and Balachander, Controller of Examinations, graced the occasion.
Vimalanand, Principal, CMS College of Science and Commerce, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of Republic Day and the constitutional values that guide the nation.
Following the presidential address, a Republic Day parade by the NCC cadets was held. Students of CMS delivered Republic Day messages in English, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi, highlighting the spirit of unity in diversity.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Salini, Vice Principal – Academics, CMS College of Science and Commerce.
