Pongal, the harvest festival of Tamil Nadu, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit at Nehru Arts and Science College, Thirumalayampalayam, on 13 January 2026.
The celebration aimed to instil traditional values and promote cultural awareness among students.
Krishnakumar, CEO and Secretary of the Nehru Group of Institutions; Nagaraja, Executive Director, Academics and Administration; and Vijayakumar, Principal of the college, graced the occasion.
The campus resonated with joy as sweet Pongal was ceremonially prepared, symbolising prosperity and abundance. Various cultural programmes and competitions were organised for staff and students, highlighting the richness of Tamil heritage.
The winners of the competitions were honoured with prizes and certificates by the principal and special guests.
The celebrations concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sridevi, Convener and Head, Department of Tamil.
