The Department of Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences at PSG College of Technology is organising the three-day 7th International Conference on Computational Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Computational Models (ICC3) from December 18 to 20, 2025, at the college campus.
The conference was inaugurated on December 18, 2025. Shina Sheen, Head of the Department, delivered the welcome address, followed by the presidential address by Prakasan, Principal of the college.
The inaugural address was delivered by the Chief Guest, Bob Fisher, President of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR) and Professor of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, UK.

In his address, Fisher spoke about the International Association for Pattern Recognition and mentioned that the association is expected to have an Indian president in the near future, noting that there has been no Indian president so far.
He then spoke on the topic “What We Do Not Want from AI,” emphasising that artificial intelligence should be aligned with humans and work alongside humans rather than making decisions for them. He also remarked that AI-generated content on social media is often annoying to watch.
Fisher further elaborated on “What We Do Want from AI,” stating that AI should demonstrate at least the same level of good judgment as humans in critical situations and should provide helpful, honest, and harmless content.
In his address, Prakasan highlighted the role played by women in the early development of mathematics and computational sciences and spoke about their significant contributions to the field.
Malar, Program Chair, presented an overview of the conference. The inauguration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sreeja, Professor of the department.
About the conference
The conference features keynote talks by eminent international academicians from across the globe, including one speaker from Canada, five from the USA, one from Australia, one from New Zealand, and one from the UK. A total of 100 papers were submitted, of which five selected papers will be presented and published in the prestigious IEEE Xplore.
The conference is sponsored by ANRF, SLB, and OptimusPrime. ICC3 is a biennial conference that began in 2013 and provides a premier interdisciplinary forum for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss recent innovations, trends, and challenges in its three focus areas. The conference aims to promote high-quality core and interdisciplinary research encompassing theory and applications in design, analysis, and modelling.
As a curtain-aiser to ICC3 2025, a pre-conference workshop titled “Advancing Sustainable Computational Models for Intelligent and Secure Systems” was organised on December 16, 2025.
