The Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Institution’s Innovation Council of PSG College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore, jointly organised the 6th edition of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) Regional Meet 2025 – South Zone on 25th November 2025 at the college.
Raghab P. Dash, Advisor-I, AICTE and Joint Secretary, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, Parliament of India, New Delhi, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Vincent, Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST), Chennai, was the Guest of Honour.

Vincent, in his address, lauded Tamil Nadu for taking innovation initiatives seriously and bringing laurels to the state, citing milestones such as establishing 16,393 IIRC cells- the largest in the country and securing 10,349 patents granted, the highest in India.
Senguttuvan, Principal in charge of the college, delivered the welcome address. He emphasised that in an era marked by rapid technological advancements and global challenges, platforms such as the IIC Regional Summit are vital for empowering institutions and equipping learners to think creatively, act responsibly, and innovate with purpose.
Kannaian, Secretary of the college, felicitated the program, and in his address, he emphasised the growing momentum in our culture toward building entrepreneurship and innovation, transforming young minds into curious problem solvers and reinforcing the belief that education must evolve continuously to stay relevant and ignite curiosity.
Alagarsamy, Director, Consortium for Technical Education, delivered the special address on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. IAKOKA Subramaniam, Chairman, Franstek Belts, Goa, celebrated the region’s strong entrepreneurial ecosystem, reminding the audience that innovation is not a new concept but simply the pursuit of meaningful solutions to real problems.
The inaugural session also featured the live telecast of the Central Inauguration from AICTE, New Delhi, connecting institutions nationwide.
Sitharam, AICTE Chairman, addressed in the Central Inauguration of IIC Regional Meet 2025, highlighting the presence of 3,500 innovators shortlisted under the YUKTHI initiative, underscoring that such gatherings are not merely events but collaborative platforms guided by the spirit of swadeshi, sustainability, and the nation’s vision for 2027.
He praised the over 6,000 IICs, R&D cells, and IPR efforts actively promoting research and commended the City Innovation Cluster model while wishing all participants success in positioning India as a global innovation leader.

The event marked a notable moment for the nation’s entrepreneurial and academic ecosystem. Around 1600 participants from 391 Higher Education Institutions across South India participated in the event. Krishnaveni, IIC Convenor of the college, proposed the Vote of Thanks.
As part of the meet, delegates inaugurated the Open House Events, including YUKTI Innovation Exhibition, IIC Poster Display and the Swadeshi Udyami Bazaar, which highlighted student innovations, institutional achievements and indigenous products by entrepreneurs under the “Vocal for Local” initiative.
Prototypes and ideas developed by student innovators in the semi-final round of the YUKTI Innovation Showcase featured an impressive display of groundbreaking concepts, ranging from sustainable technologies and low-cost healthcare solutions to AI-driven tools.
The afternoon session was a series of technical sessions and masterclasses led by innovation ambassadors, ecosystem leaders and industry mentors.
These sessions focused on strengthening institutional innovation ecosystems, promoting student-led entrepreneurship and building faculty capacities in innovation management.
The event highlighted the nation’s commitment in fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
