Shree Natya Niketan, one of the city’s most respected Bharatanatyam institutions, celebrated the 25th edition of its annual dance festival, Nrithya Sandhya, marking a significant artistic milestone. The performances were held on November 21, 22, and 23 at Hindusthan College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore.
Over the past 25 years, Nrithya Sandhya has showcased the rich heritage of Bharatanatyam, providing a distinguished platform for young dancers to present their art with confidence, devotion, and grace.
In this Silver Jubilee year, a series of captivating performances was presented by talented artists, celebrating dance as both a divine and cultural expression.
As a highlight of the celebrations, Shree Natya Niketan conferred the prestigious title “Nrithya Sangeetha Nipuna” upon Rohith Bhat Uppoor, a renowned Carnatic vocalist admired across the Bharatanatyam fraternity. His soulful music, deep understanding of rhythm, and unique artistry were widely respected for elevating dance performances with emotional depth and spiritual resonance.
The grand celebration in Coimbatore was organised by Vidushi Mrudula Rai, Founder and Director of Shree Natya Niketan School of Dance, who continued to inspire young dancers and nurture classical arts with dedication.
