The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched CMS‑03, India’s heaviest communication satellite, using the LVM3‑M5 rocket from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, on 2nd November 2025.
Weighing around 4,410 kg, the satellite will strengthen India’s naval communication network and provide services over the seas and the country. The satellite was placed into a geosynchronous transfer orbit and will move to its final geostationary orbit using its onboard motors.
This launch is a major achievement for ISRO, showing India’s growing ability to launch large satellites for communication and strategic purposes.
The CMS‑03 satellite will help improve India’s maritime communication and support national security. This successful mission adds to ISRO’s reputation in building advanced space technology.
