Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS), hosted the HR Conclave 2025, themed “AI Whisperers: The New Role of HR Professionals,” on October 11, 2025.
The event, powered by TRIO Thought Solutions and brought together industry experts to discuss the evolving role of HR professionals in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).
Valarmathi, Director of VIMS, delivered the presidential address, welcomed the guest speakers and emphasised the importance of understanding corporate expectations and current trends in HR services.
She highlighted the significance of technology and empathy in today’s corporate landscape, stating that these two factors are crucial for survival.
Aswin Kumar, Assistant Director-Talent at Ernst & Young (EY), emphasised that AI-driven models cannot completely replace the HR role, but rather augment it. He noted that corporations mainly use AI for data analytics.
Srinath, People & Culture Specialist at Kovai.co, said that AI is not a threat to regular HR services but rather an important skill to update. He encouraged students to develop their skills in AI to stay relevant in the industry.
Shobana, HRBP at Wipro, discussed the future of AI in various industries, including primary education services, and highlighted upcoming futuristic AI technologies such as Artificial Super Intelligence, LLM, and Quantum Computing.
She suggested that students should upskill in these latest technologies and that corporations should collaborate with AI technology.
Krithika Selvaraj, Manager-HR at Pricol Limited, emphasised that AI has created a competitive platform among corporates. She advised students to utilise online and offline educational platforms to develop their skills instead of relying on AI tools. She strongly believed that AI would not replace human thinking.
