The United Home, located in Kurumbapalayam on Sathy Main Road, is a shining example of social excellence, having served orphaned senior citizens with compassion and care for over 30 years.

This institution has become a sanctuary for elders who have been neglected by their families and abandoned by society.

Operating from its own premises, The United Home currently houses 110 elderly residents. These individuals, who have no one else to care for them, are provided with all basic necessities, food, clothing, shelter, medical care, and medicines, completely free of charge. The Home is committed to ensuring that every resident leads a life of dignity and comfort.

The facility also provides care for bedridden patients, many of whom have no known background or family details. A dedicated team of 18 staff members works around the clock to monitor and support the residents. A panel of paid doctors visits the Home at regular intervals to ensure proper healthcare, while wardens and nurses live on-site to provide constant assistance.

To enhance the quality of life for its residents, The United Home offers a range of amenities. Each elder is provided with a cot and mattress, and both men’s and women’s hostels are equipped with televisions and FM radios. Other facilities include a hygienic clinic with a clinical lab, a well-equipped library and reading room, a spacious dining hall, a neat kitchen, and a vegetable garden that supports fresh, nutritious meals.

These services and facilities are made possible entirely through the support of generous donors, as the Home receives no assistance from the government or foreign organisations. The management emphasises that the continued functioning of The United Home relies solely on the goodwill of charitable individuals.

Festivals are celebrated with joy and enthusiasm, especially Diwali, the festival of lights.

As the upcoming Diwali festival approaches, The United Home appeals to the public for support. Contributions, however small, can help make the celebration brighter for the elders. While they may have been deserted by their biological children, your kindness can help them feel loved, cared for, and remembered as part of a larger family.
