The PSG Institute of Architecture and Planning (PSGIAP), Coimbatore, in association with the Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi, successfully hosted the COA Awards for Excellence 2025 – Zone 5 from 28th to 30th September 2025.
It is a three-day event showcasing outstanding architectural talent from across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry, celebrating innovation and excellence in architectural design.
The 3rd day of the event commenced with the open jury, featuring participants shortlisted from the closed jury held on the previous day.
A total of 10 students presented their theses before an esteemed panel comprising Yatin Pandya, Ketan Kimmatkar and Tanushri Ajay Mokde as jurors, with Jayashree Deshpande, Aneerudha Paul and Anis Mohamed serving as coordinators.
The valedictory function of the awards ceremony was held at the college campus, with Kamala Kant Asthana, Executive Council Member of the Council of Architecture, serving as the chief guest.
The event was graced by Tamilvanan, Principal of the college, Jayashree Deshpande, and the distinguished jury members.
The Best Architectural Thesis Awards in Categories A and B were conferred upon Mathangge from the Measi School of Architecture, Chennai, and Aleena Paulson from the APJ Abdul Kalam School of Environmental Design, Kerala.
Each award carried a cash prize and a certificate of recognition. The Council further announced sponsorship of travel and accommodation for both winners to participate in the National Jury at Ahmedabad on 14th October 2025.
