The Department of Computer Science at Dr. G.R. Damodaran College of Science, in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, organised an outreach program on the topic “Atoms in the Service of the Nation and Career Opportunities in the Department of Atomic Energy” at the college campus on 21st August 2025.
Jalaja Madan Mohan, Technical Coordination and Public Awareness Section, IGCAR, was the resource person and addressed the school students.
An exhibition was also organised, showcasing the power and non-power applications of nuclear energy by the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research.
Parthipan, Scientific Officer ‘E’ from the Atomic Research Centre also addressed the students.
Students from over 10 schools, studying in Grades 9 to 12, in and around Coimbatore, attended the session.
