Rao Hospital conducted “Breastfeeding & Beyond”, a special awareness program on 6th August 2025, at its premises in RS Puram.
The event was organised in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Aakruti, FICCI Flo Coimbatore, and Coimbatore Penta Ladies Circle No. 37.
The program aimed to educate new and expectant mothers on the importance of breastfeeding and early childhood nutrition.
Insightful sessions were delivered by the hospital’s in-house experts—Dr. Krishnasamy, Neonatologist & Paediatrician, and Baby Shree, Lactation Consultant & Child Nutrition Expert.
Their talks covered essential breastfeeding practices, debunked common myths, and included a special segment on transitioning to solid foods.
The event saw enthusiastic participation, featuring an interactive quiz and active engagement from expectant mothers, new moms, and their families.
Each attending mother received a thoughtfully curated gift to support her breastfeeding journey.
“Breastfeeding is the first step to lifelong health. Empowering mothers with the right information makes all the difference,” said Dr. Krishnasamy during his address.
Dr. Asha Rao, Medical Director and Chief Consultant – Fertility and ObGyn at Rao Hospital, and District Chair for Rotary’s Maternal and Child Health Project, added, “Through education and support, we aim to build confidence in mothers during the most important phase of their child’s development.”
Rotary dignitaries present at the event included Rtn. Kadambari, Chairperson, Coimbatore Penta Ladies Circle No. 37, and team—all lending their support to the cause of maternal and child health.
As part of the event, Rao Hospital also inaugurated its newly renovated cafeteria.
