Early this morning, around 1:44 AM, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of India stated in a press release that the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir—areas from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.
The attack targeted nine terrorist sites, and sources say that over 80 terrorists were killed by the Indian Army in the airstrikes.

“Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and the method of execution,” stated the PIB.
“These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack, in which 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali citizen were murdered. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable,” the press release noted.

A detailed briefing on ‘Operation Sindoor’ will be held later today, around 10:00 AM, by the Indian Ministry of Defence.
